Target Background Check question?

Target Background Check question?

Postby delron72 » Sat Apr 21, 2012 6:36 am

So I got a conditional job offer at Target. If I pass the drug test and the background check I'm hired. I'm a little worried though. I had a little run in with the law when I was 15 years old. However, that was 5 years ago and the records have since been sealed/expunged. Would that show up in a background check or am I worrying over nothing? The incident wasn't serious. Just a misdemeanor charge that was actually dropped.
And since I'm here, what else shows up in a background check anyway? I haven't had any problems with previous employers in the past and I have no credit to check. (I heard that's two things that they also look for)

Target Background Check question?

Postby thom » Sat Apr 21, 2012 6:40 am

As a general rule, the background check does not show juvenile offenses, only those in an adult criminal court. Here is what is available in a background check- Name (and aliases), all addresses of that name(s), DOB, all phone numbers, property tax records, adult criminal records, bankrupcy info, lien history, lawsuits, marriage/divorce records, any judgements for/against, and finally lists of associated people such as relatives, friends, and neighbors. A background check is different from a "credit check".
