The road to becoming a FBI agent?

I'm an 18 year old about to graduate high school. My career goal in life is to become a FBI agent. I plan on receiving a 4 year degree in Criminal Justice and getting some experience working with a federal law agency like a state trooper. Is this a good route to take to become a FBI agent? I was wondering if anyone knew more about this could help me out. Thank you so very much. Any info is useful.
