Those who speak English, can you help?

Postby artzai » Sun Nov 20, 2011 10:28 pm

Hi,

I am writing an essay and English is not my native language. Please, check my text for mistakes, thanks:

“In addition to legalize the DTP, the government of the Armed Forces implemented a series of reforms in the economic dynamic of the country: the process of growth based on the industry was promoted. The State assigned itself the key role in the articulation and control of the economic process, and different modalities of participation of the workers in different sectors of companies were stated. As Smith explains, the import substitution industrialization made it possible the incorporation of the waged employment in the productive process, for which an economic key structure was created for the unionization of thousands of workers.

On the other hand, in the labor level, the State became the main employer of the country. It reinforced its role as regulator of the relations between capital and work through a series of legislative initiatives, being the Job Security Law and the Industrial Community Law, the most known ones. In only seven years, the number of labor unions recognized in the country had duplicated, passing from 128 to 210 between 1965 and 1974, which implied a growth of more than 100% of its base.”

I don't see any errors here, it looks perfect to me. Good job!
PS, this is American, right? If not, "labor" needs to be changed to "labour".
I'm 14 though, don't just take it from me lol

Your text is good, but not perfect. Your use of the definite article, for example, is not always correct. I have changed what I think needs changing:

In addition to legalizing the DTP, the government of the Armed Forces implemented a series of reforms to the economic dynamic of the country, promoting a process of growth based on industry. The State assigned itself the key role in the articulation and control of the economic process, and different modalities of participation were introduced for workers in companies operating in different sectors. As Smith explains, import substitution industrialization made it possible for waged employment to be incorporated in the productive process, creating an economic environment where thousands of workers could be unionized.

On the labor level, however, the State became the country's principal employer. It strengthened its role as the regulator of relations between capital and labor by passing a series of legislative initiatives, the best known of them being the Job Security Law and the Industrial Community Law. In only seven years, the number of labor unions recognized in the country had doubled, rising from 128 to 210 between 1965 and 1974, which signified a growth of more than 100% of its base.
