1. How did the American Movie industry evolve during the 1920’s?

2. How did immigration policy change in the 1920’s? What were the new laws passed to slow down immigration to the United States?

1. American movies went from silent films to talkies in 1927. In 1928 Hollywood began rewarding movie excellence with the Oscar.

2. Immigration began to be limited to so many per year over-all, and the percentage a country could allow for its citizens to emigrate was determined by the size of their population already here.

3. Henry Ford revolutionized the auto industry by developing the production assembly line, paying a wage of $5.00 per day, and building plants in the Mid-West near farming communities so the farmers could have a place to work during the winter and give Ford a good, steady work-force that was reliable and not demand to be part of a the Union movement.
