My patents grew up differently from me. I went to private school all my life until now for my senior year. They say now with all the money that we're saving that we can go on vacation and start a restaurant. They say that I'm gunna experience the real world. That it's time to learn the truth. I'm angry that they never listened to me cuz I was unhappy while in private. It was very binding and affected me negatively . Were they right to keep me in private all that time?

As parents they can decide any education for you they want. When your 18 move out and make their own decisions. I agree with theirs.

I agree with your parents. As your "parents" they have the right. What you think may be true or it may not be true. I would suggest waiting, living, learning before writing it down in stone in your heart that they were wrong. There are pro's and con's to every side.

Yes. I have worked in 7 different school districts and every minute you spend in private school is a blessing. Be thankful for that. You do need to experience the horror of public school while you still have parents who can help you cope with that. You were sheltered in private school so public school can be a shock to you. It can be a positive experience but you have to learn to deal with people who are different from you. My nieces and nephew's were so sheltered growing up that when they went off to college the shock was more than they could cope with. They ended up all going to the same college....buying a house and living together. It was sad. Have a great time on vacation. Peace be with you.
