Most credit cards won't accept you as an applicant without some type of steady work income. The reason for this is to ensure you have the funds to pay back the charges you put on your card. The other thing to think about is for your age, your limit will initially be pretty low until you build it up by paying on time, paying the minimum due, and keeping you account in good standing. Often your limit can start as low as a few hundred, up to maybe 2,000 at the most for someone around the age of 18. Again, they still want you to have some source of income, and ask on the application just how much you make. If you have good credit, which you probably do, just not much credit, then you might be able to get one without having a parent or relative cosign the application. Some ask for this under a certain age because they want to be sure if you can't pay, someone else can. I would be really careful about credit cards because without income, you won't be able to keep it long and it will go on your credit for years. Your bank account should work with paypal, I would ask customer service what the issue is. Hope this helps!
