What Can I Do Leagally?

I live in Florida and I know we have a Lemon Law here, on November 27th 2011 I went to a used car lot and was kind in a rush to buy a car seeing how I had just gotten my driver license back after 3yrs of suspension, I saw a car I liked and bougt it bought I didn't leagally have my license until the 28th of November! I paid $2,000 cash (which by th way is alot to a struggling college student) from day one the car had problems I didn't get to test drive it because he told me the fuel pump needed to put installed! On December 28th I was driving after picking the car up from the same lot which I purchased the vehicle "As Is" no warranty yet he continued to fix the car for free, like I was saying on Dec 28th 2011 I was driving and all of a sudden the car started smoking from the hood lots of white smoke I attempted to pull over thru rush hour traffic by the time people stopped being ignorant and let me over black smoke was in the car and my engine was on fire it all happend so fast! I informed the guy from where I bought the car he told me it wasn't his fault, yet his mechanic was the last one under the hood of the car! Im so sad I don't know what to do. I feel like I could've taken my hard earned $2,000 and literally burned them myself? can I sue him? please any information! also I've ggogled Florida Lemon law and all I get are references to Lawyers.

You have no legal (not leagal) recourse. Lemon laws don't apply and you bought it as is.

Sorry, but the lemon law only pertains to new cars, not used...

"...I purchased the vehicle "As Is" no warranty..."

There's your answer. You have no warranty and no recourse against the seller. Buying a car "as is" means the buyer accepts all risk.

"as is/no warranty" also means there is no lemon law protection.

You need to slow down. Think about stuff before you do it. Suspended license, willful ignorance spending money, and on a lesser note; the inability to read 6 items down on a google search.

Search it again, and click the dmv link. It basically explains the lemons are for NEW cars, not old, run down cars. If you buy a new car that has problems, it's the manufacturer's fault. If you buy an old one, that's your fault.

You can sue anyone for anything, but you're not going to win this one.

Find a friend to go with you, next time you're spending money. This friend needs to be good and smart enough to tell you not to do something, when it's obvious you shouldn't.
