The International Laws of Belligerent Occupation

Belligerent occupation is governed by The Hague Regulations of 1907, as well as by the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949, and the customary laws of belligerent occupation. Security Council Resolution 1322 (2000), paragraph 3 continued: "Calls upon Israel, the occupying Power, to abide scrupulously by its legal obligations and its responsibilities under the Fourth Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in a Time of War of 12 August 1949;..." Again, the Security Council vote was 14 to 0, becoming obligatory international law.
The Fourth Geneva Convention applies to the West Bank, to the Gaza Strip, and to the entire City of Jerusalem, in order to protect the Palestinians living there. The Palestinian People living in this Palestinian Land are "protected persons" within the meaning of the Fourth Geneva Convention. All of their rights are sacred under international law.

There are 149 substantive articles of the Fourth Geneva Convention that protect the rights of every one of these Palestinians living in occupied Palestine. The Israeli Government is currently violating, and has since 1967 been violating, almost each and every one of these sacred rights of the Palestinian People recognized by the Fourth Geneva Convention. Indeed, violations of the Fourth Geneva Convention are war crimes.

So this is not a symmetrical situation. As matters of fact and of law, the gross and repeated violations of Palestinian rights by the Israeli army and Israeli settlers living illegally in occupied Palestine constitute war crimes. Conversely, the Palestinian People are defending Themselves and their Land and their Homes against Israeli war crimes and Israeli war criminals, both military and civilian.

I know roughly the same about the abuses of Israel against the Palestinians as those of Arab governments against their Jewish populations... the one difference is that all (or virtually all) of the Jewish populations have been thrown out of those countries and therefore no longer live under the conditions you describe. Israel permitted these displaced persons to settle in Israel and the Arab governments, though they could en mass take the entire population of Gaza without batting an eye...refuse, and have refused for over 60 years. Genocide is NOT being practiced by Israel,,,that is absurd and a rant.

well, they do sorta operate with a certain level of impunity.......especially since it appears that at least half of the big6 of the permanent members of the U.N. pretty much let them do their thing and if anyone even suggests that they may have a bit of an "itchy-trigger-finger" they hide behind the premise that since many of their ancestors were killed in ww2 (millions of many nationalities and ethnic groups were killed in ww2 also, not just them), altho sometimes you can't blame them, they have nations that don't like them on multiple side.....but as long as the u.k. and the u.s. let them attack freely, they will always take advantage of it........i also read something that the current pm of the isrealites called the obama administration a bit anti-semetic.......if this is true, they obviously got away with saying it...........and i just don't think their above suspicion when they make a claim that a neighboring nation has wmd and they pre-emptively bomb that country......anyone see that before?.........and they seem to like the 10 to 1 ratio in many of the conflicts....if you kill 20 of their people, they aim for killing 200 of yours and they don't seem too upset if they go over and kill innocent civilians, and then claim that the country they attacked his in areas where civilian could be killed.......that's really lame and what's worse is we buy whatever they sell.........in fact, if it's safe to say they are big boys and can defend themselves, it may make us safer in this country if we condemn them, even if only a token manner once in a while.....remember folks, the overall goal is peace and stability........no one in that part of the world seem to have that as a high priority.........they should sit down and do some bing-hits and talk, maybe find things that people can connect to, like an online war video-game.......maybe a little trash-talkin and settling it in cyberspace will be less risky for the rest of us..........that's the new slogan: "bingers and video-games for peace".......has a catchy ring to it...
