I am a first time inventor following through on an idea I had come up with. After google searching for the "would be" product, I don't see that the product currently exists. I contacted a patent attorney office. I found the initial consultation is free. What kind of fees should I expect after the initial consultation? What kind of fees are usually associated with having an attorney's office conduct a patent search? What kind of fees are typically associated with an initial patent filing?
