What's The Trick To Get Good Tickets For A Show Or Concert? I Go On Ticketmaster Exactly As The Tickets Go On Sale

But no matter how exact I am there are never any good seat tickets available regardless of the price. What gives?

What's The Trick To Get Good Tickets For A Show Or Concert? I Go On Ticketmaster Exactly As The Tickets Go On Sale

USA Today published an article back in June in which many folks expressed your exact frustration. I clipped an exert from this article and posted it below. See the link for the rest. It may not solve your problem, but it may give you some additional ideas on other tactics to pursue in your quest for a great seat. "The traps of shopping for concert tickets"By Brian Mansfield, Special for USA TODAYReference: www.usatoday.com/life/music/news/2007-06-14-ticket-shopping_N.htm"..."It doesn't make any sense at all," says Matthew Coviello, 36, of Lighthouse Point, Fla. He managed to score tickets for Rush and The Police, but the experience left him frustrated. "American Express has a pre-sale. Ticketmaster has a pre-sale. Brokers get in there and get tickets somehow. Then you've got radio station promotions."Tickets are being divvied up, and to get something at face value in a decent area, it's just ridiculous."Take The Police, for instance. If you wanted to catch summer's hottest tour, you could have tried a front-row auction; a premium-seat auction; gold, silver or VIP packages; the fan-club pre-sale; the Best Buy Reward Zone pre-sale; or TicketExchange, a service that allows ticket holders to sell to other fans. Or you could have taken your chances with the general public sale. And those were just the options through Ticketmaster."We have no problem getting tickets ? we have a problem getting good tickets at a good price," says Linda Casey, 45, of Bayside, N.Y...."

What's The Trick To Get Good Tickets For A Show Or Concert? I Go On Ticketmaster Exactly As The Tickets Go On Sale

scalpers and pre-sales Scalpers scoop them up, and venue's hold ticket, and clubs have pre-sales   I know where I work(in a casino with a big arena), they hold tickets for some reason. I know what I have been told, is that they release tickets the day of the show for people who "forget" to buy tickets. My sister has called the day of the show and has gotten up to the stage, buying tickets the day of. Also, people will buy the tickets with CC's and then later they fall through, therefore the tickets get released again.   Ticketmaster does almost the same thing. Tickets will sell out in hours, then a few weeks later I'll get an email saying tickets were released, sometimes I'll get an email saying last minute up close rows were released, so definitly sign up for the shows you are trying to see. I don't think they sell up close to the stage first, I think they sell in sections.   Scalpers and big business scoop up the good seats. If you want to see a sold out show- your best bet is to go to Ebay or Craigslist. You can spend the extra money and go to Stub Hub to get good seats. I have done that.   It's fustrating trying to get seats to a show and missing out. I suggest if it's for a band you really love, sign up for the fan club. SOmetimes they give you pre-sale codes, or hold seats just for the fan club. Sign up for news on that band on ticketmaster. They will give you a heads up on released tickets.   amyt76's Recommendations Breakthrough Success Secrets For Selling Music Concert Tickets Online The Best How To Earn Extra Money, Inner Game and Sales Models for Music Concert Tickets Biz 3 CD Package The Best Make An Extra Income, Inner Game and eCommerce for Concert Tickets On-line Biz Package(3 CDs) The Best Marketing, Godfather Principles and eCommerce for Music Concert Tickets Biz 3 CD Package The Down and Dirty How To Earn Extra Money, Godfather Principles and Accounting & Finance for Concert Tickets Businesses 3 CD Power Pack Used from: $14.31 The Down and Dirty How To Earn Extra Money, Success Principles and Sales Models for Music Concert Tickets Biz 3 CD Package The Fantastic Generate Extra Cash, Godfather Principles and Biz Networking for Music Concert Tickets Businesses 3 CD Combo Pack Used from: $15.22 amyt76 103 months ago Please sign in to give a compliment. What's The Trick To Get Good Tickets For A Show Or Concert? I Go On Ticketmaster Exactly As The Tickets Go On Sale

The first tickets go to the band?s fan club.(pre-sale) The next batch go to the local ticket buying club.(pre-sale) Blocks go to radio stations for employees and giveaway(pre-sale) What?s left over goes on sale for everyone. My husband?s ex-boss belonged to "Friends of Jimmy", the ticket buying club here in Connecticut.  Every week they got a flyer with upcoming shows.  They simply had to fax the flyer back with how many tickets they wanted.  And the seats were awesome--we got 2nd row for Nine Inch Nails last year. (That?s the only thing I miss about that job--good concert seats).  It?s a couple of hundred dollars a year(plus ticket prices) but if you go to a lot of shows and you care about good seats, it?s worth it.   If your area has one, most likely the radio stations would talk about it.  Or you can call the station and ask.  You can pool your resources and join it with a friend(or several friends)--just be sure of the ticket limit. I think it was 6 per concert. If you only like a few bands, you can join the fan clubs--then you get extras like VIP entrances, sometimes back stage passes. But most bands? fan clubs are at least $40-50 a year, so if you belong to 4 you might as well join a buying club(if you can). Obviously there are scalpers(illegal in many states, but they manage to operate anyway).  They belong to the buying clubs and the fan clubs and they also pay people to wait in line and/or call and buy blocks of tickets.  You pay A LOT(at least 2x face value).  And if you want to sell your ticket to a scalper you usually can?t even get face value for it.

What's The Trick To Get Good Tickets For A Show Or Concert? I Go On Ticketmaster Exactly As The Tickets Go On Sale

Ticket brokers are absolutely destroying the ticket market. These greedy individuals pay dozens or hundreds of people, or develop advanced computer programs to buy up as many tickets as possible the second they are available. They then sell these tickets at a huge profit from their own websites. This is illegal in many states, but in some states it is not, so these ticket brokers operate out of the safe states and work online, controlling the supply of tickets and artificially inflating the prices for their own profit. It should be completely illegal, but the ticket brokers do a lot of lobbying to keep their business open. They ruin the enjoyment of thousands of fans to feed their greed. They're parasites, no better. Any time you can't get tickets, search for them online and I guarantee that you'll find hundreds of prime tickets for sale with ticket brokers minutes after the show as completely sold out - only they'll cost at least double or triple face value, sometimes more than 10 times face value. And the ticket brokers claim they're performing a service. A service to their own greed, nothing more. Write your representatives - unless you want to line the pockets of a greedy ticket broker every time you want good seats to a show, we have to shut them down!
