What should I wear to a baby shower/ birthday party?

On Saturday I have a party which is for two close family friends. It's a baby shower for our family friend's daughter in law & a birthday for their father. I could wear a nice shirt and shorts or I could wear a casual dress such as a sun dress. I've never been to a baby shower. Well I have but I was much younger. Are you supposed to look nice? Like a little more than casual but not formal? I'm a teenager (14 years old), by the way, if that changes what I should wear for whatever reason. I'll most likely be spending more time with the other teenager there (he's a family friend so I'm really close to him) and there will probably be other people around my age too. We might play hide and seek or something, so I need to know if I should wear a dress so I could bring a change of clothes to run around in. Thanks xx

haha, dont worry. really nice colors that would look good would be like orange, white, light blue, maybe even a light pink. Like a sweet kind, kind of like a skin but more on the pink side.

You can start at THE MALL!!! you can go to forever 21, H&M, dillards, macy's, franchessca's, charming charlie, all of those, will help you accesorise with tons of cute colors!

just remember, the first thing you do to look at clothes is say, "is this me?" because what you wear shows your personality, and that is what attracts the naked eye.

Are you going to a baby shower OR going to a birthday party?
Since you don't made ??that clear, just wear nice clothes that are no more sophisticated than the guest of honor or the birthday person, but that also will not let you looking cheap. A girl must always be well dressed. Baby showers are very boring, the games and all the "aahs-oohs" is very tedious, so just wear jeans, a short sleeve shirt and a light cardigan, flat or low-heeled shoes and complete with some bracelets and pretty earrings. If it's a birthday party at night you may want to wear some piece of clothing decorated with sequins or rhinestones.
