What type of information does police released to newspaper?

I read several different local news from several different county close by. Each of them have a sheriff report. It said average about 200 calls per week per county.

But only 20 of report are released from 200. So questions is which do sheriff usually released and which are withheld from media?

The report your gonna find is like thief, suspecious activities, harrassment, and damages.

But they do not listed all the arrested or pull over for traffic violation.

So which crime reports will be released and which is not?

Just thinking why not released everything including traffic violations? Like I got ticket couple of week ago for not stopped on stop sign but it didn't go on local newspaper.

It's all released, as it's all public record. But the newspaper will use editorial discretion in choosing which items to print. Routine traffic stops and other violations usually don't rate as interesting enough; most newspapers list felonies and sometimes misdemeanors.

Also, not every call results in an arrest. Most don't, actually.

The "blotter" information is released to the media and they pick and choose.

Bigger cities only release major crime info.

Editorial discretion, dear.

A traffic violation is not a "crime" per se. An infraction is simply a breach; violation; infringement: an infraction of the rules.

A "crime" on the other hand is defined as an action or an instance of negligence that is deemed injurious to the public welfare or morals or to the interests of the state and that is legally prohibited.

So of course, no one is interested in who ran a red light, but they want to know all the gory details of real crimes, so they print those.

Who wants to be bothered wading through a sheriffs report full of speeding tickets and burnt-out taillights?
