I'm thinking about going into law. I heard criminal attorneys are underpaid, so under what specialization might you earn the highest salary (on average)?

The answer to your question is that you need to pass your test first and get your JD and then specialize. So you have a lot of time till then and a lot of borrowing of student loans.

Criminal attorneys make good money because trials last long but it depends on the status of the person you're defending and your experience. Hollywood type divorces too are good money.

Since you'd have to "buy into" a firm it would be ages before you can afford to make super good money.
