I would have answered YES to the question, since you plead guilty to an offense. The ideal would be for you to consult your attorney on this matter as soon as possible. If not, contact the licensing agency to amend your application, if possible. If a state preforms a fingerprint background check on you for a professional license, what will, and what wont show up on your rap sheet? (ie, crimes, infractions, civil matters, traffic tickets). 9 years ago I was given a park curfew infraction ticket. No arrest or fingerprinting, I was just issued a ticket. I went to court, pled guilty to the infraction and paid a small fine. I'm applying for a state license in the health field ( in a completely different state). They preformed a livescan fingerprint background check. Will a non-traffic infraction show up on a background check, where no arrest or booking was made? On the advise of friends and supervisors I answered "no" to the question " has you ever been convicted of a violation of the law". The reasoning behind answering no is because this is considered a non criminal offense. I've passed the same background check for a lower level license 4 years ago. But I'm worried sick that, it may show up this time and I will be denied my license for not disclosing this infraction. What should I do?
