In an earlier question asked regarding the recent massacre in Colorado, I suggested that a well armed populace, such as that in Switzerland, would have prevented the killings as people would have been able to defend themselves. To which Lili replied that Switzerland and the United States are not a fair comparison because Switzerland is a small, homogenous country. Excuse me? Switzerland may be small, but it is hardly homogenous. The last time I was there there were more minarets than spires. And muslim immigration aside, Switzerland is comprised of several distinct cultures, each with their own (official) language! How is that homogenous???
Lili also suggested that a better comparison would be Australia, well I would say what about Mexico? The country with the strictest gun control laws in the western hemisphere, and also the country with the most gun related deaths!
Lili, you are obviously anti-gun. But don't let your personal opinions get in the way of the FACTS. If someone pulls out a gun and starts shooting, I would pull out mine and shoot back. Whereas a lone gunman has several targets, I only have one. WHose odds are better? If you criminalize guns, then only criminals will have guns!
What does Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and of the 16 Commonwealth realms, think of this matter? What is her position? Please limit your answers to this question, using the details as a starting point only. I have included them to demonstrate the relevance this issue has among our royal fans. Thank you.
