When i walk my dog he always poos outside my property!? how do i train him not to?

i used to never walk my dog, but recently i started too and i can see the excitement in his eyes. i havent taken him for a walk in like 10 years so he would run everywhere like crazy on my leash. well when i usually let my dog out he poos right away and i bring him back in. recently i started taking him out for walks and whenever i bring him out he never poos in my property anymore, he usually waits until we walk like 1 yard away then poos. like today, i took him out in our lawn and stayed there for like 20 minutes! yes he urinated a lot but never pood. then i thought he didn't need to go poo then started walking him and guess what? he pood after 3min of walking on someone's lawn. i hate picking up his poo, how do i teach him to poo in my lawn before he walks?

try to scoop the poop into your yard. Or get something new like a brick and see if he will pee on that because it is new.

well, it is obvious that your dog is really excited. He probably is too excited to forget to poo, and then remembers, so you should hold him back and not get him too excited, and praise him whenever he poops on your lawn. At least your dog doesn't poop on your rug/carpet!!

Try cleaning your yard. My dogs won't poop in the yard if there's lots of poop already in it. They will refuse and look for other places to go if they think there's too much in the yard already.

I'm glad you're taking an interest in your dog again, you said he hasn't had a walk in 10 years? That's downright disgusting, dogs need exercise every single day and trips to the vet every year, not once every decade.

you need to clean the poop anyway... it can transmit diseases.

plus... if its chucking it down with rain then realistically you want the dog to poop as soon as possible rather than 2miles away
