Which political party do I belong to?

Postby eddis » Fri Jul 20, 2012 5:40 am

I believe that immigration should be allowed, but with some restrictions.
I'm pro-gun, but with light exceptions
I'm pro-choice
I'm pro-drug, but there should be some restrictions on amount consumed
I'm pro-gay & gay marriage
I'm pro-war, but it's for under extreme circumstance (war on terror)
I'm anti-death penalty
I'm for states rights
I believe we should tax the rich more, and the poor less.
I believe all men and women should be equal in court (ex. If a man punches a woman, he should get the same amount of time in prison as if a woman punces a man).
I believe we should not base our laws on Religion (as we do have a little problem with that today).

Which "party" do I belong to? Republican? Democrat? Liberal? or Libertarian? Other?

I think you need to ask yourself which issues matter to you the most because you are in between a republican and democrat

You are almost a Libertarian except for the tax thing although you're probably just misinformed about that. Here's a quick stat. The top 1% already pay 25% of the tax burden. The bottom 50% pay 1.2% of the tax burden. You can't get more lopsided than that.

Either Democrat or Libertarian. If your rationale on stuff like gay marriage and other social issues is because of the Constitution or right to privacy, that would be libertarian. The taxation part made me think Democratic.
