We are selling our house and my DH wants to keep the room purple. I think that best to make wall neutral - pale cool neutral colour / white with hint of mocha. As a cooperation I have said paint walls, keep purple curtains and cushions on sofa.
So to vote:
A Keep wall purple
B Paint wall neutral
C Paint wall neutral and make change curtains to a beige duck egg colour

Neutral will attract more buyers. Ready to sell. Rather than mark the first thing that needs to be changed to new owner's style. Although it may be pretty it will more likely polarize potential buyers.

It would be great if you paint it the neutral way. Majority of people wanting to acquire a house looks for simplicity -where they can find serenity. lol
One more thing is the indoor air quality level of your house should be considered with utmost priority. check this article and read. -http://koonceconsulting.com

Light colors open up a room. They make them feel bigger and pleasant. I sold real estate for 20 years. NO ONE likes a purple room.
Here is a great article to help you sell the house.

B) Paint wall neutral
I agree with everything Leslie had to say. When buying a home, most people try to imagine how their items will look in it and that's kind of hard to do against strong colored walls. People who may otherwise be interested enough to make an offer could very well talk themselves out of it because painting over that wall is just going to be one more expense. It sounds a little stupid when you put it like that, but people have done stranger things. When in doubt, defer to the wisdom of your real estate agent.
