Worker's compensation question regarding insurance.?

Postby armin » Fri Jul 27, 2012 11:56 pm

Two months ago I cut my finger on a lettuce chopper at work and had to go to the E.R. to get stitches. Unfortunately, my urine test for worker's compensation came back positive for THC. I am not a regular smoker, but two weeks before the accident I had a farewell party with my friends since college was letting out, and I participated. Even though this makes me lose my rights to worker's compensation, will my own personal insurance company pick up the bill if I tell them i failed the drug test?

Worker's compensation question regarding insurance.?

Nope. Your personal health insurance most likely has a clause in it, that any injury subject to workers comp laws (ie, that happen at work), are not covered.

Sorry. You play, you pay - and now you know.
