18 Years Later, We Acquire Notice Of Warrant For Arrest

Postby bret11 » Wed Dec 18, 2013 9:42 pm

My query calls for criminal law for the state of: Texas
I was genuinely shocked to acquire a notice of a warrant for hubby's arrest. He referred to as the town court (modest suburb outdoors a bigger city) and was told that he had a shoplifting (beneath $50) charge and though he can not never neglect the name of the offense it was something like lewd behavior or cussing in public. Anyhoo, I was questioning about statute of limitations. We have by no signifies received a notice of this warrant just just before now, he has renewed his license routinely, in other words, it's not as if they could not have identified him prior to now. He's genuinely positive he devote time in jail for this offense, but of course has no records from that long ago. Any guidance?

My problem requires criminal legislation for the state of: Texas
I was very surprised to get a notice of the guarantee for husbandis arrest. He named town judge (little suburb outside a bigger area) and was informed that he'd a theft (under $50) cost and though he can not remember the name of the crime it was something similar to lewd conduct or cussing in public places.

These are extremely various things. All misdemeanors, but there is a huge difference between slipping something INTO your pocket (theft) and slipping something FROM the pocket (lewd conduct).

Anyhoo, I was thinking about statute of limitations.

It isn't a problem. It isn't operating as the guarantee continues to be lively.

We've never received a notice of this warrant before now, he's renewed his license frequently, in other words, it's not as if they could not have discovered him prior to now.

The DMV does not look for warrants in many states. And for misdemeanors, authorities are not out searching for them - they get discovered the way in which 99% of warrants do - in function of the routine traffic stops.

He's very certain he spend time in jail for this offense, but of course has no records from that long ago. Any guidance?

He is able to work by having an attorney to discover what the particular costs are as lited on the warrant and work on it from there.

Thank you kindly for your response! We do plan on getting an attorney to help find additional information about the warrants and to assist in bringing the matter to resolve.
Thanks again!
