ACTUAL Philosophy Question? Discussion? Thoughts?

Postby celeste » Sat Dec 17, 2011 10:24 am

Alright if money really is a "New World Order" it has the little demonic sign and everything i think it will eventually come down to that. In today's world you can't do anything without money. I guess you could walk to different towns and just be like a drifter, but who brought up in the USA would ever do such a ridiculous thing without money?
So every person I have ever met in my life uses money to buy food, gas, rent, mortgage, etc. But every poor person I have met is usually just struggling to make sure food is on the table every night and they'll be able to stay in their home for the next couple months. Why is it that we as Americans always have to separate ourselves from them and instead of helping people get the mandatory essentials of life, we blow our money on personal material things to make us MORE comfortable than we already are. Every child in America requires CONSTANT stimulation, and we are aloud to have it here... (video games, television, etc.)
If there was just a free Family Fun Recreation center in every town it would probably be a lot easier to just relax and have fun. I mean instead of 5000 people in a city saving up to buy video games, maybe a boat, and all these other little things that make people happy, why not just have a recreation center where people could actually just use the utilities whenever they want, maybe meet some people? Just keep adding more and more to it then EVERYONE can use these stupid things that make us bored so quickly.
As a community I think people should be able to support an idea like this. Most people who have a boat use it for a little while then it just sits at the dock because they got tired of going on it all the time. WHY can't we just do this to all people? Have a free recreation center in many towns and give people that don't even have a chance to afford luxuries a place they can experience them. The boat was just an example I know most lakes would get ridiculously crowded and such, but expensive activities that the common man can't afford.
In todays society Money = Power. Want someone to do something for you? Bribe them. Everyone in office has a price and there are so many corporations that can change laws like nothing. Then with China's population growing while our debt is growing with it. Almost everything I see always says Made In China, its on almost everything, if china just wanted to call in their debt what would they do? Storm california with their BILLIONS of soldiers and take our homes away? Its legal right? Yeah the U.S could out up a good fight but think about how many people there are in china...
So I guess I'm just venting paranoia on money turning into the new world order. One day money is going to rule everything. I imagine it coming to the point where if someone does not have any money, they will die. therefore Money=Life and as human race we will be self classified as material. Also I believe that people that we make rich, should find a way to give back. Money = Power if you have money you should have the responsibility of that power and help people who don't have any. I see no reason why people horde it away in their digital piles.
If you can then best supporting description wins.
If you can't imagine anything I said best description of why I'm stupid wins.
What do you think? another question lost in history

It is at the point where without money you die. If a person has not a cent they have no food no shelter even a bottle of water costs money. Let's say poor man gets cancer. They die. If a poor man gets even the flu they'll probably die too. No money=no car=no job=no money=no food= no life. And the rich don't want to help less fortunate because.they feel like the less fortunate can be rich if they want to too. And there are sooo many disgusting sick people out there so a comunity center would t work. And think about it, if you saw a bumb on the street would you give him money? Probably not because he'd probablf spend it on booze and drugs. When I see homeless people I buy then a gallon of milk and a bag of cheeseburgers. In the winter I might get them a coat and hat if I can afford it,.and I'm an 19 year old who can barley pay for herself to live. But if I was rich is probably walk right by because I wouldn't know what its like to struggle. I have compassion.because I lack wealth. Rich people do 'charitable' Things.for publicity. Look at the morons.from jersey shore. With their money they should do good. But they don't. They care about clothes and looks and clubbing. I think that all the rich.should use their money to help us, but they won't. This world is so ****** up. I wanna make it big but keep myself. And use my.money to make a house that shelters and trains homless for minimum wage jobs to get them on track. But it'll never happen. Good things only happen to bad people.

ACTUAL Philosophy Question? Discussion? Thoughts?

Postby larenzo » Sat Dec 17, 2011 11:08 am

Empty pockets allow a greater sense of wealth, but unfortunately i've come to accept there will always be rich men behind closed doors trying to keep us in our place and there will never be charity for the common man when he is in need of relief, basically no rest for the blessed, just long life for wicked.

Reminds me of one of my favourite sayings...

If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude more than the animating contest of freedom, crouch down and lick the hands which feed you, may yer chains rest lightly upon you.
