Am i entitled to extra pay when i do overnights at a non 24/7 store?

i have worked at my job for over a year and ive become one of the well respected employees. every thursdays our truck comes in and some of us stay to haul it through the mall hallways and work and spot and stock the shelves. we usually got out of work at 12 but now we have a new manager and she is trying 2 save hours and cut a few of the people from the truck days. so now we stay intill about 5 in the morning intill the truck is done. its just me and two other people to haul very heavy pallets of merchandise a long distance through the mall which is a two man job which only leaves one other person to do the bulk of the work. our manager demands and gets angry at us when we leave before the entire truck is stocked 2 the shelves ( usually over 800 peices including heavy totes full of stuff). the 3 of us dont get any benefits from working the over nights and have never really complained in till recently when it got out of hand. after i finished doing ALL of the truck i have to wheel a dumpster of all the garbage back and forth several times. i ran into another guy from another store in the mall and we vented about our jobs and the stress we had from them. turns out he makes double pay for overnights. also any time he is asked 2 stay later then his normal schedualed time hes gets night differential. so he is racking in all of these bonuses while im doing alot of heavy and hard labor and getting no special pay. i live in NY am i entitled to and special pay for working over nights or longer then i am supossed 2? are there any labor laws that I am not aware of that they are cheating me out of? thanks for your help

Your question is too long to really read. If you are a contract worker, you work any amount of hours for that pay that you agreed to in your contract.

If you are not a contract worker and are an hourly employee, you are entitled to be paid for every hour that you work. In some states if you work more than 8 hours in a day you get time and a half for the 9th, 10th, 11th, etc. hours.
