American Gov't: Bill making process after passed through Committee system...?

Dealing with a class action? Discuss it here

American Gov't: Bill making process after passed through Committee system...?

Postby gerard » Sun Dec 18, 2011 10:03 pm

When the bill is on the house floor:
-How are bills brought back to the House floor for a vote?
-What are the different things that can happen to a bill at this stage?
-What has to happen for the bill to pass in the House?
-What is the purpose of a party caucus?
-What role does a caucus play in the legislature?

Next action on a bill:
-After the bill passes in the House, what are the next steps?
-Where does the House send the bill and what are the different things or steps that the bill goes through next?
-How do these differ from the House steps?

Final actions on a bill:
-What are the final steps of the bill making process?
-Include all possibilities such as the conference committee, bill signing, veto and veto over-ride.

I really appreciate any help I can get.... I'm reading through my book for answers and also going through class notes but further information would be really nice. :) Much appreciated!
