Answers to our drug/violence problems?

I've got a random idea and I wanted to see what everybody thought. What if we say bought a big island or a country like Greenland find a place for the people inhabiting that land to live, then every time we caught members of a drug cartel or terrorist group or repeat offenders with known gang affiliation we just shipped them up to this island. Of course we'd make sure the plane doesn't get high jacked or run down when it lands. Then we could use the money saved on putting these losers in jail, or having law enforcement searching for them and we could have a big fence built around the island, or some kind of security so they don't end up back here. What do you think would happen???? Just a random thought
