Any Strategies For A Great Renaissance Faire In Possibly Florida Or Co?

Postby jeric100 » Mon Dec 30, 2013 7:01 pm

My buddies and I are considering going later in the spring to either California or Colorado(we possibly may wait a small later if Colorado has not thawed out by then) and was questioning if there have been worthwhile Renaissance Faires/Celebrations which you'd suggest. I have visited the RenFaire internet sites to uncover out what is offered, but can not inform from the explanations if they're truly worth the acquiring value of entry or not. Any suggestions could be significantly appreciated! Thanks!

Any Recommendations For A Good Renaissance Faire In Either California Or Colorado?

We've been to this Faire several times, and it is very large and worth attending.  You can find more details on their website. One note, unlike some Ren Faires, the players at this one really roleplay, going out of their way to question visitors over their "strange attire"(aka street clothes), etc.  While this makes for a more authentic environment, it can also make for a bit of harassment, so I highly recommend going in costume.  This is not as intimidating as it sounds.  Costumes can be rented at most costume rental places, purchased online or at the Faire, or you can put together your own fairly easily(i.e. for men, 6 yards of tartan fabric will make a greatkilt, no sewing required). Also, learn the language of the Faire before attending, so you'll be less likely to be heckled by the players. Have fun!

I've been and enjoyed this RenFaire(Irwindale). Nice price too. If you'd rather go to one in NoCal, I've heard good things about their fall one(http://www.norcalrenfaire.org/), but have no first hand knowledge.
