Arraignment: Things To Expect

Postby Kenward » Wed Jan 15, 2014 6:32 pm

This really is for their state of Michigan.
I've the notice for your arraignment. I am given to a Magistrate, in the location of amongst the District Judges. (Wishing that is the ideal thing).
At the arraignment, can there be an chance to develop a plea supply? Or do I nonetheless need to have undoubtedly to declare "I Remain Mute" and watch for a public defender to be designated?
What may happen, easily pled guilty? I am operating with a fantastic deal already and just need this to be over with asap.
Thanks.

Arraignment: What To Expect

There might not actually be considered a prosecutor present in the arraignment. When there is, you can test to create a plea offer. If not, plead not guilty or "remain mute" (so the judge enters a not guilty plea) and keep in touch with a prosecutor before or in the pretrial (or, if it is a prison, the initial examination). (Or obtain a lawyer, especially if it is a prison.)
If you enter a guilty plea to a misdemeanor, you'll be charged and the problem may in all probability be appointed for sentencing. Issues be much more complex whether it's a felony.

Thanks for the reply to both of my questions. I appreciate it.
I messed up, and just want this whole thing over with. Got an appointment with another lawyer for a consultation, hopefully I can afford his help.
PS: Additionally - thank you for being compassionate with your answers.
