Apart From Getting Path 95south To Florida From Ma., What Additional Paths Might One Decide To Remove Traffic?

From Boston, proceed east about 50 miles and mind SSW for about 1100 miles ahead of heading west once more and I guarantee you will not notice yet another automobile the complete way.   Sorry, only kidding.  I95 has turn out to be the quickest way.  I've pushed it from Baltimore entirely to Daytona Beach and it's fairly a good drive.  Furthermore, I think it really is a fantastic deal better to remain on the main road.   Finished to complete would be to prepare your journey so that you steer clear of the massive cities throughout rush-hour site visitors.  That may possibly save you lots of time.

There are options in between Boston and Delaware -- south of there, you happen to be pretty considerably stuck. Merritt Parkway 87 across Tappan Zee Bridge Palisades Parkway to NJ Turnpike get off at x7A onto 195 to 295  (or at x7 onto 295) take 295 to Delaware Memorial Bridge   i've heard individuals recommend a western swing by way of Allentown, PA, but i've by no means found it superior.   south of Richmond, ought to usually be clear sailing.     Sources: personal knowledge -- Mom in Providence, wife's Mom close to Savannah, we live close to DC LexWordsmith 76 months ago Please sign in to give a compliment. I'd probably take 95 south to the DC area, then take the beltway over and pick up 66 west and take that to 81 south. Take that into Knoxville and then take 75 south into Florida. Then pick up the Florida turnpike south of Ocala, which runs right into 95 north of Miami about Port St Lucie. You'll see the alleganies, the great smokey mountains, the shenedoah valley, Chatanooga, Atlanta, Knoxville, and the endless state of Georgia. :)

How about this... From Boston, go east about 50 miles and head SSW for about 1100 miles before heading west again and I promise you won't see another car the whole way.   Sorry, just kidding.  I95 is probably the fastest way.  I've driven it from Baltimore all the way to Daytona Beach and it's a pretty nice drive.  Also, I think it's a lot safer to stay on the main highway.   The thing to do is to plan your trip so that you avoid the big cities during rush hour traffic.  That will save you a lot of time. nnorfleet 76 months ago Please sign in to give a compliment. Aside From Taking Route 95south To Florida From Ma., What Other Routes Could One Choose To Eliminate Traffic?

Postby helmut41 » Sun Mar 02, 2014 9:07 pm

when we travel south When we travel south to Richmond, VA...We get on Route 84 it goes through Connecticut and traverses southern NY(actually being from NH we drive through Keene, NH and down 91 to the Mass Pike to NY I-87, but that's just our option, from Mass. you'd likely go through Connecticut, unless you also want to avoid the Hartford traffic).   From 84, you pick up route 81 south in Pennsylvania(just above Scranton, PA).   Just outside of Harrisburg take 83 south, to I-76 west to Route 15 south(this will take you into MD, also you travel fairly close to Gettysburg, PA).   We stay on 15 into Virginia where just outside of Warrenton, VA, we get on Route 17 south into Fredrickton, VA where we finally get on I-95.  This Route 15/17 route is a very easy drive and very easy on the eyes and you can maintain moderate highway speeds.   This route through Penn allows you to eliminate going too near New York City, you totally avoid New Jersey, and you don't have to contend with the Balitmore-DC traffic nightmare.   I myself don't drive into Boston, and I feel fairly comfortable with most of this route, the worst being in Richmond itself.    Note, you do have to share the road on I-81(in particular) with many semis/18-wheelers, etc., so be warned about that.    Also, one of the things we have tended to do on recent trips is to get off I-84 at route 507 south in PA(towards Greentown, PA -- and if the time's right we stop at John's Diner [taking a right at the bottom of the exit ramp, you have to reverse direction a very short ways to continue back down 507 south]). We then get on Route 191 to Route 493(which takes you by the Tobeyhanna State Park, very pretty part of the Western Poconos).  Just west of Tobeyhanna, PA we enter on Route I-380 South, and then take Route I-80 west until we pick up I-81 South just north of Hazleton, PA.  This "detour" makes a nice change from highway travel.   Hope this helps at least half the way to Florida.   PJinNH's Recommendations Microsoft Streets and Trips 2006 With GPS Locator Amazon List Price: $129.99 Used from: $40.00 Average Customer Rating: 4.0 out of 5(based on 166 reviews) This is the map program I prefer.
