Asking The Tough Question:

Postby Dae-Hyun » Fri May 02, 2014 5:53 pm

All of us realize that companies can't discrinimate against race, creed, color, sex, etc., etc., but think about looks? State that you're an employer seeking to fill a situation. You discover AN IDEAL resume using the IDEAL expertise, qualifications, etc. You contact this individual for an appointment and he/she looks IDEAL to complete the positioning. You fulfill, and, oh-my-Lord, this individual is butt-ugly. Does this work involve dealing with the general public? Yes, about 50% of times, you will see public contact.Do you employ this individual?

What is ugly to one person is not to another. If you are so swayed by appearance that you would choose not to hire the perfect employee that says a lot about you.

"Do you hire this person?"I trust you're asking whether it's legal to base a decision to employ or not on personal appearance.
In CA, I believe it is.
I only know of one place where it is unlawful -- DC -- though there may be others.
