Black dress and red shoes: classic or played out?

I am attending a friends wedding. I have a nice black dress with a thin black patent belt. I have very chic red patent shoes that go well, but I was wondering if the "shiny red shoe" was still "in." Is the black dress with red shoe a classic or is it out of style? The wedding is in LA so I want to look up to date.

I also have nude shoes and I know that the nude is a more modern look. I just feel like they look so...blah with the black dress.

Wear the nude shoes to the wedding....(I love red patent shoes, but they might be too much for the wedding).

the black dress red shoe thing is kind of over rated. I like the nude shoe better but it is kind of "blahh". what about a royal blue shoe with a black dress. it gives the same effect as the red shoe but the color scheme isn't so obvious. you have to make sure its the right shade of blue though, because a navy blue is too close to the black nd itll look like u were trying to get away with it as if it were black. nd a too bright blue will make u look out of place (thats more club wear). i know this idea is obvious, but no one thinks of it any more.... a black dress with black shoes!lol.

Go with the red and if you have add some diamond studs to make the look more clean and classy.
