Bright Shoes at Funeral?

a funeral service ISN'T a sad thing, unless people make it one.

The purpose is to bring all the person's close family and friends together, anyone who knew him and celebrate his life. It's a wonderful thing to happen, so sad it takes such a tragedy to bring it out though.

I believe the make up should be on the natural side, so no red lips, and your clothing should not attract attention. I have been to only a few (Thank, God!) Funerals in my day, because I haven't had many loved one's die. I usually just go in my nicest low key outfit, if that helps.

No I wouldn't wear red shoes. I've just come from a young person's (16) funeral, and she wanted us to wear bright clothes, but I think high red heels would be inappropriate. It suggests a lack of understanding for the person, social etiquette, etc. I'm not saying you should wear all black. I'd wear maybe purple flats or smaller heels.
Let me put it this way. People notice red shoes, right? People will think that by wearing the red shoes you want people to notice you. That makes them assume you want to be the center of attention - but that isn't your call. It's not about you. It's about the life of that person, and helping his/her family and friends to grieve and accept what has happened. I know you probably dont mean for the red heels to mean attention seeking, I just wouldn't go there if I were you.

Depends on how red your lips are I guess! If its a darker red than maybe, but not too bright.
I'd definitely wear waterproof mascara by the way!!
