Brother that is has lived in the US, is being told he might be deported because of a crime he commited many?

years ago. he made the stupid choice, or getting involved in selling drugs with my brother in law. this happened over 15 years ago, he was only in jail for a few days. he has not commited any other crimes or been in trouble with the law. he has had his green card since he got here over 20+ years ago. he never became a us citiznen, as he was afraid of dredging up the past and getting deported. but the other day he randomly got a letter stating that there was a risk he could be deported because of his criminal record.....

he has told this only to my sister and not to me so i cant be asking him questions. but can he do anything? my brother has 4 children, 2 of which are very young (one is 4 and one is 5 years old) he has a wife and he living with his father/mother in law. and his son from his first marriage, who just turned 19.

he is a hardworking good man, that made a choice he shouldnt have made, but it has been so many years. can he still be deported for a crime that occurred so long ago??? help!

Yes, he can still be deported. He should have been deported and had his green card revoked when he committed the crime. Drug crimes are very rarely forgiven when it comes to immigration.
He needs to get an immigration attorney.

is his wife legal? if she is then that makes him legal. he could end up going to court and when he does he could try to make a deal with the judge. my friend got deported but then he came back n no cops know about it so he could just leve and come back tho that is alot of trouble. i'm sorry for your situation.
