Building Costs In Ocala, Fl

Postby Cuarto » Sat Jun 07, 2014 3:18 am

Hi. We own a residential lot in a subdivision in Ocala, FL(we live in Chicago, IL) and are wondering if anyone from the FL area has any idea of approximately how much it would cost to put up a 1500 s.f. concrete block/stucco house(3/2/2)..starting with the costs of clearing and prepping the lot, installing septic field/well, impact fees, any permits, etc. all the way to finishing and moving in? Also, anybody know of any reputable builders of traditional housing? How about builders in the area who build Monolithic Dome Homes? Thanks! Deb Z.

Building Costs In Ocala, Fl

It would probably cost around $200,000 I used to live in Gainesville, not too far from there. I never undertook any kind of project like this, but I know that the area is not particularly expensive. Doing a little checking, I see that the average cost for home construction in 2005 was $162,100. That figure seems to include all the details you mentioned. At 1500 sq. ft., I'm suspecting your home would cost more than average, though, so around $200,000 - $225,000 is a good guesstimate. Some other sites are still suggesting that it may be closer to $160,000 but that doesn't sound realistic to me. I'd rather overestimate the guess than underestimate.I can't say I personally know of any builders in the area, but this site lists a few:http://americanbuilders.com/city/ocala.htmlGood luck!!
