... what may well your original response be? Would you feel less of an attorney who answers his or her really own phone, or would it-not stage you?

I would be surprised but not think much beyond that. One of my attorneys frequently has calls go directly to his phone and answers. It's kind of a relief because his assistant is an idiot.

I don't see where it matters much.. It would not phase me either way, there may be a number of reason why. Secretary is off for the day, sick, vacation or out to lunch. It might also be he/she require no secretary and or legal aide, I say this because the one usually is both.   I have been in a court battle for five years now fighting for my wifes rights after being fired illegally. The Lawyer when I hired her answered the door her self, it was late afternoon so I figured the secretary went home already and was right. Her secretary is also a qualified legal assistant that's why I made the statement above!   My lawyer has often answered her phone herself in the last five years again only when her assist. was out of office.   No it would not phase me at all, it does not mean they are less qualified when they do. I think it would give a notion of being down to earth and more in touch with clients! Sources: PC 123 WoolyBadBooger 62 months ago Please sign in to give a compliment. If You Were Looking To Hire An Attorney, And You Called And The Attorney Answered The Phone Himself Or Herself...

Lawyer My first reaction would be it's a start up operation.   Maybe he/she just started their business.  Ask them.   Then I would think that maybe it would cost me a little less than a corporate lawyer.   Look in the BBB to see if they have any marks against them.   Ask if they can refer you any prior clients.   Ask around to see if anyone has any opinion on them.   Then make your decision on whether to hire or not.   It may save you money.  Since they are not paying staff to answer the phone.   Just a thought.....   Have a great day RG and good luck with the lawyer thing.     Spartan 62 months ago Please sign in to give a compliment.
