Can A Cop In Texas Obtain The Death Penalty If He Murdered An Innocent Person? What're The Laws On That?

In Texas, if you intentionally kill a policeman, you obtain the death penalty, but think about the alternative? Perhaps, like, if your cop pulls me more than for managing a red-light, takes me to the bushes, then holds me, then gets me out-of my automobile and then rapes & kills me, could he face the death penalty? Or may possibly he in a position to steer clear of it b/c heis a cop?

Cops are not immune to the law. Whether your rape and murder would constitute the "special circumstances" that would automatically get your killer, be he cop or otherwise, the death penalty depends entirely on what the laws say in your state. But many states consider killing a police officer to be worthy of a harsher penalty, such as the death penalty, and call that "special circumstances." Each state has different laws about what constitutes special circumstances, but those laws were not set by the police department, but by the state government.I still don't understand why you seem to obsess so much about the actions and supposed thoughts of police officers, but since you have posted at least a dozen or more questions about them here in the past year or so, it is clear you do obsess about them. Whatever.Katherine   ***caseycat*** 32 months ago

Anyone who commits a murder, 1st degree premeditated murder and is convicted is subject to the death penalty in Texas, Cop, Judge, or whatever....man or woman. That is the law.It does not mean you will be given the death penalty, that is for a jury to decide.   usmc 32 months ago
