Can a Dr. be sued for medical malpractice in the state of Michigan?

Postby fychan97 » Sat Feb 25, 2012 7:22 pm

My eye surgeon made some mistakes during and after surgery and it has caused me to lose my sight. There is no doubt that the damage was caused by the surgeon's negligence. I was told there is no longer Med malpractice suits in Michigan. But, I am still blind and I still owe almost 100.000 in medical bills. I haven't worked since June 2011. After 3 surgeries the Dr. told me last week I was not going to recover my vision. Are there any agencies out there that might help? I live in northern Michigan and we are limited to medical services. Thank you.

Yes you can sue for medical practice pretty much everywhere. Even by just typing into google, Michigan med malpractice lawyer, lots come up. I'd consult the michigan bar association to find a good lawyer, as you can be looking at several million, and lifetime support, as you can't work.
