Can a sword be shipped from Spain to the US?

Postby jerard » Mon Jul 23, 2012 6:03 pm

I'm going to Spain in a couple weeks and, given their reputation for it, wanted to buy a sword while in Toledo. The problem would be getting it back... I can't just walk through the airport with it, right? So can I use an international shipping service to ship it to my house? Does this interfere with customs or any law I don't know about? I know it would be a lot, but any estimation on how much is it going to cost?

A) those swords are sold without having sharpened them...they are for decoration, and not weapons...or at least they may be...I'm sure you can get them sharpened as well.
.
B) You may have almost anything shipped back...it's probably the simplest way. Yes, it will cost a bunch, especially if you have them wrap and ship from the store, because they weigh a ton! There's a price limit for what you can ship without paying customs, but you probably won't have to pay any tax to customs.

C) I suggest looking for one that has a legendary connection (like Excalibur or one of the others) or one that has Damascene decor on the pommel.
