Can Colorado Law get you and take you back to Utah if you are a run away from there?

My buddy got his girlfriend pregnant and they didnt want to tell their moms. so they left for colorado to get away from the mental abuse their parents were giving them. They also didnt like the drugs and alcohol their parents were doing. So if they get picked up by colorado law do they have to go back to Utah?

Yep, they sure do. They'll be arrested and put in a Colorado juvenile detention center until their parents can pick them up or other arrangements can be made.

If they're under 18, federal law requires them to be returned to their parents unless the parents are deemed unfit. The minors may then either be placed in the custody of another family member, or in foster care or the minor can petition to be emancipated.
