Can cops come into my yard without my permission?

Ok, Friday night I had been out with friends for a few hours. At home we had some relatives on vacation staying with us. On the way home (my friend was driving) I noticed a convoy of three cars a good 1500 feet back driving at equal speed and bumper to bumper (i couldnt tell if they were cops or not) as my friend pulls into the driveway I noticed that the convoy entered the subdivision, I was getting my stuff together in the car. As the convoy gets closer they finally stop in front of the house on the road and I get out the car and sure enough three cops. (setting: Yulee Florida, 12:30am. point of view: me; male spanish/caucasian. 16 years old) They got out of the car and shine their flashights at me and 3 of them go toward my backyard gate carrying a glock and an MP5. the cop that approaches me didnt say anything he shined the light on me. I had my hands up and said "Whats going on?" (I had not talked to anyone in the house for a few hours, the possibilities of what could be happening in there were endless, and i wanted to know for my self) the cop, still standing about 20 feet away from me turns and faces toward the gate and the other officers (my question still unanswered) I yelled this time "What is going on?!!!" the cop sprints to the gate (away from me). I ran to the front door peeked in to see if everything was normal. (i see my cousins watching TV) I head on in and said "why are there cops here?" nobody knew what i meant. i walk to the back door EMPTY handed and open the door and Instantly... guns in my face cops yelling get on the ground and a red taser lazer sight reflecting off my retina (meaning the dumb cop had it pointed at my face.) I put my hands up and said "Hey this is my property!" my mom who was picking up beer cans by the pool was asked to drop the weapon. at this point the cops realized they had made a mistake. Then a cop has the nerve to tell my dad "your kid needs to calm down." how calm would u be if u almost got shot in your own backyard. they enter the premesis with no form of permission and raid our backyard asking about guns damn near shoot me for emptyhandedly opening a door. And why did all this happen, what was their reasoning? One of the cops said there was a call about gunshots on chester road (chester road is a very long road, we had people outside all night and no gunshots were reported) these cops WERE NOT searching for guns on chester road they would not have turned into my neighborhood which is like a quarter of the way up the road. they either followed my friends and I at a distance or the caller gave them my exact adress. Aside from that, does anyone know how much money one could get out of an insident like this? it was very unprofessional, it scared the hell outta my little cousins, and I was damn near shot (in fact, If this was the nearby JSO of jacksonville, I would have been shot). does anyone know of the best course of action to get compincated for this unprofessionalism. I will not stand for these cops acting like they can take over. In florida I wouldn't doubt that there are laws protecting cops from such a lawsuit, I really just want to know if I have a case and other details are appricated.

they can go in your yard without permission but they cant enter your house without permission unless theres have a warrant or something like that and i think cops are trained to have their guns ready in case the other person(s) are shooting or something

Wow. The laws here in australia are very much different to yours. My guess is that those cops were rascist. They'll find aany excuse to lock up someone of colour. They shouldn't be there without a warrant, or unless someone called them to the house (i doubt) . If you want something to happen, court wise, your probably gonna need a good lawyer. There are alot of crooked cops everywhere. And im sure it's your right to know why they are there and why you are being arrested. In australia if we get pulled up by the cops on the street, we don't have to tell them anything but our name and address. It's not their rright to know anything else unless they have a warrant.

if they broke your front door, the town/city might reimburse you for the door, but thats it
