No, you cannot be. Names, in most cases, are unable to be placed under copyright. For example, although every dictionary you see is a "Webster", very few of them are actually published by Merriam-Webster, because "Webster" cannot be placed under copyright.

This is especially true if you chose something like "Peter Parker" because that name is more generic than, say, "The Amazing Spider-Man" or "The Human Torch". Also, consider that the character "Thor" is called such because the name (and, because the story is an ancient myth, the character) are of

great age and, as a result, in the public domain. Disney has a copyright on the name "Snow White". However, it's unlikely they would be able to enforce it. On the other hand, if someone tried to used "Mickey Mouse", that name is original and infringement would be far easier to prove.
