You are SOL. Once the court has ruled, you cannot go back several years later and re open the case.My old friend and landlord sued me for $5000 for breaking a lease, property damages, and past due rent. There are a few issues though, I never filled out a rental application, I've never seen a lease, and I never signed a lease. The house was a 6 bedroom that myself and a group of friends lived in. The rent came out to $1200 a month. So $200 a bedroom. I was under the impression that there was no lease and that we were paying month to month. But as we were going to court over it, his lawyer pulled out a lease application, and rental agreement with all of my information on it, not in my hand writing and with forged signatures. I presume the signatures are from my old roommates girlfriend, but I cannot be sure, I just know it isn't mine. And in the process of this case I got caught driving without a license and was forced to sit for a little while. The jail I was at dis not transfer inmates for small claims cases. I was also in the process of moving and getting my forwarding address set up and what not. And for some reason they didn't send me any mail at either address, they sent the granting of my appeal to a different previous address. I was a lot younger than and in a bad time in my life. I'm now trying to get my debt straightened out and it would be awesome to not have to pay this. It may be hard to believe but I was at a point in my life where I didn't care if I owed anyone money, but now I see that it is crucial for me to get the situation settled. I am from Wisconsin if that helps with any rental laws you may know of. Thanks!
