Can jails keep books?

Postby salvadore94 » Sat Jun 02, 2012 8:18 pm

Ten years ago, I was incarcerated at a county jail. One of the rules they had for inmates was that any books the inmate brought with them to jail became the property of the jail library. This law has always bothered me, and I'm wondering if it's legal.

yeah that does not sound very legal to me sounds like thievery they usually take your items and then when you get out they give them back you should call them and get your book back or even take him to court ha ha the only way I can think that they can do that is maybe u Signed a contract or something
