yes depends on the situation.
If you did not pay rent or they have probable cause to evict you then they can do so at any time.
you are living on their property.

Eviction is a completely different action then a small claims action if you can prove it was retaliatory you can also included that in your small claims Becareful evictions are a public record many will not rent to you with a eviction on your record in fact no one will rent to you

A landlord can evict at anytime as long as they are complying with the lease and the laws of the state.

As far as whether this landlord can evict? I have no way of knowing because you haven't provided the right information.

I am confused.

Are you asking if they can physically evict you because you took them to small claims? As in come to your house and throw you stuff on the street? The answer is no.

Are you asking if they can file an eviction and send you an eviction notice? The answer is yes.

If you are suing your landlord in small claims, then your landlord obviously doesn't want you there. If he has legal grounds to evict you, then consider yourself about to be looking for another place to live.

When is the court date?
What type of tenancy agreement do you have? Assured Shorthold? If so, then it would take him at least 2 months to ask you to leave.
Is this happening in the UK or the US?

Landlords do not evict, judges do.

It would be a separate cause. They can only evict for failure to pay rent, a major lease violation or failure to vacate.
