Can my restaurant employer force me to come into work sick, while throwing up and having diarrhea?

I have worked i my restaurant and never called into work sick. i don't have paid sick days so i don't work i don't get paid. I went into work tonight because it was too short notice to call in when i woke up and told my manager that i couldn't come into work tomorrow and he told me that it would be to busy not to have a host so i had no choice and had to come in regardless!!! is this even legal? i was throwing up at work and its been getting continuously worse i cant be away from a bathroom.

I live in colorado so labor laws here?

it's definitely not right that your boss is doing that. not only is that mean, it is also a threat to public safety. if you work around food when you are sick, you could possibly pass on illness to others. it's basic food safety and common sense. your boss should not be able to force you to work if you are that ill.

I'm not positive but I don't think it's illegal to do so. It's not fair to the people eating at your work place as they can possible catch what you have but I don't believe your employer is breaking a law. Its nice to know there are others from Colorado on here.

throw up in front of your manager lol. My coworker called in sick, but my manager said no she has to come in. so when got to work, she "fake puked" idk how she did it but he sent her homee lol

I don't know if it's LEGAL. But I'd definetly let them see you throw up. They wouldnt want to loose customers because their hostess is vomiting on the dining room floor.
