Can The Middle Class In America Be Saved?

Postby Amogh » Sun Jan 19, 2014 3:29 am

Saved by whom? They need saving from the institution that is supposed to be their protector, that is to say, the irredeemably corrupt government. With no genuine reform, which cannot occur by means of the ballot box, the so-named "middle class" will continue the decent into slavery that started 30 years ago. If, even so, the individuals awake to the require of sweeping constitutional reform, we may be in a position to turn this about. But, that would demand a vast majority of us to place aside our variations and perform with each other. I never see that happening.   hipnek 28 months ago

I admit I haven't read your link yet but are you aware of the income disparity by all the countries of the world. Take at look at what countries have it better than us:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_income_equalityWe are below most third world countries already.Distribution of Wealth:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_distribution_of_wealthThe World Distribution of Household Wealth http://www.wider.unu.edu/publications/working-papers/discussion-papers/2008/en_GB/dp2008-03/World's richest 1% own 40% of all wealth, UN report discovers· First ever study of global household assets· 50% of world's adults own just 1% of the wealthMore than a third of the that 1% live in the United States. http://www.guardian.co.uk/money/2006/dec/06/business.internationalnews   Max20characters 28 months ago

Can The Middle Class In America Be Saved?

Postby trucker » Sat Feb 15, 2014 7:16 pm

If the Republicans don't get back into the Whitehouse to finish Bush's crusade to demolish it, it may have a chance. Republicans would defund programs to help the Middle Class, as they have attempted to do for months now. If not for Obama, there would be no Planned Parenthood right now and many other crucial programs would have received more cuts or be gone. They would continue to do the bidding of wealthy corporations, they would probably increase military spending and pull back programs to protect the environment. They would continue their agenda of deregulation of the Food Industry and Wall street. They have proven themselves callous towards the middle class and if that isn't obvious by now, what on earth does it take to see? It is the Democrats that fight for the middle class. They fought for it when they created Medicare and Social Security and they continue to fight for it. What have Republicans done to help middle class America in the last decade? Is there even ONE example of the Republicans choosing the middle class over their wealthy interests?I would love to hear it. And, if there is only one example, that is still pitifully deficient in America's best interests.   Skylight 28 months ago

Can The Middle Class In America Be Saved?

Postby Rayce » Mon Feb 24, 2014 5:03 pm

At last the discussion turns to the topic with which we all can identify- the hollowing out of the middle class. It took awhile, but it seems logical to me that with the elimination of the nation's industrial base, the collapse of the middle class was only a matter of time. Can a viable middle class exist in a nation that doesn't make anything?   stanleybmanly 28 months ago
