Can The Supreme Court Make Laws?

Postby Barnardel » Tue Mar 24, 2015 6:52 pm

Congess is the only branch of the federal government allowed to make or "write laws".  The Supreme Court is constitutionally empowered to interpret and determine the constitutionality of those laws.

Can The Supreme Court Make Laws?

Postby elkan80 » Thu Mar 26, 2015 5:20 pm

The purpose of the supreme court is to interpret law. They didn't make the law. The Legislative branch(congress) creates the law. The president enforces the law and the judicial branch interprets the law.
