Can we get a trademark for our web business?

Postby talbot » Thu Aug 02, 2012 4:57 pm

My boss has given me the task of finding out if we can get a trademark for the name of our online store. We sell factory Toyota parts and accessories, and parts and accessories from other brands that make things for Toyota vehicles. I have done some research, and so far to me it looks like since we do not sell something that WE make, we do not need a trademark. Is this correct? Or is there something I missed? Please help!

Yes you can get it registered and trademarked. I am not sure of the domain name because the domain name is not a lifetime domain, anyone can buy your domain at a later date. But you can always trademark the company itself it's logo, register its ideas, programs and so forth. Patent the accessories that it has.

Register the concepts if you make a concept up like: DRIVE RIGHT PROGRAM and you dont want anyone to steal that concept or adapt that concept to something more favorable for their company, you need it registered.
