My dad said if you have a bad driving record with some tickets then you can't get an airtraffic controll job. Is this true?

Quite possibly. You could find this out by looking at the application form. You will have to declare your previous police record and let them sort it out.

Airtraffic controllers have to be sober (not even a hangover), calm and unflappable (no road rage) responsible (no recent juvenile behaviour) and pass numerous tests both academic, psychological, and physical...co-ordination being important.

Let's face it these guys handle numerous planes taking off into and landing from crowded air lanes and busy airports.......we need them to be , calm, collected, A1, self disciplined and on top of the job at all times.
