Can you be charged a pet deposit in Washington without signing anything?

I was staying at a friends how for 3 nights with my dog, they said it was fine for me to stay there and I never signed a rental agreement or pet deposit or anything at all and now they've decided they want to charge me a $200 pet deposit. Are there any laws in Washington saying they can do that even though I was just a guest in there house for a couple of nights?
