Can you evict a tenant for smoking weed?

My boyfriend and i are leasing a house out. Our landlord gave us permission to rent out the rooms to others if needed. Our sister-in-law , boyfriend live in the basement. her daughter live with us as well as one other tenant. Im just wondering if we can ask them to leave if we have asked them to stop smoking on the property or in the house.The daughter does it as well. we don't like the smell, and we are trying to have a baby and dont want it around the baby. none of them are on the lease.

you need to tell them to leave or stop because if the police show up you can get busted just for knowing their doing it .If your trying to have a baby you dont need that around your baby before or after he/she is born in that case you could loose your kid and house? remove them or tell them you will call the police on them if they do it again.

Rental agmts these days usually stipulate smoking rules. If medical MJ and no such term in agmt, tenant could give u trouble. BUT when tenant is living in your home, Ll usually holds more sway. If no term and medical MJ, give tenant notice with reasons - maybe a month free to seek new digs.

Realistically - since you're not the property owner and instead are just sub-leasing out the other rooms, you have NO right to make any rules regarding the property and/or rental agreements. Your only option is to not rent out rooms in the future.

You have a lease with the landlord. The tenants have a lease with you, but it is not written. That means it is month-to-month and can be terminated at any time for any reason or no reason upon 30 days notice,

Check your lease about illegal activity and/or drugs on premises as this could get you all evicted if so wriiten in lease agreement and you are responsible for who you rent out to so do some checking and act accordingly

Take a chill pill baby, its just weed, now if they are shooting up heroin or smoking crack or meth then get the police involved and kickem out.
