Can You Recomend A Colorectal Expert For Med -mal?

Postby Sherwood » Thu May 29, 2014 11:52 am

Dear Doctor,

I appeared with Alicia Mundy on x-tra TV June 2001 in regards to her book "Dispensing with the truth" I have probably been in contact with many law firms you know. I pursued the Neurotoxic and valve part of opt out. Only 2 firms ever saw a settlement for neuro. I have compiled a library of experts over the years and would be happy to share(-: So, you remain dear to me because we are both or were once on the same team. Recently, my mom was misdiagnosed/delayed by her former colorectal surgeon. He treated her for hemorrhoids with persistent bleeding from 2006. I got a 2nd opinion from Dept. Chairman at Cleveland clinic which lead to a colonoscopy. It revealed adenocarcinoma which grew to about 5 cm. Her former surgeon is considered one of the best, yet, not once since 2003(virtual colonoscopy) did he ever preform any colorectal testing? Nothing? He gave her hydrocortisone suppositories? Needless to say most find this to be an horrendous error?

Cancer did not spread, no stoma, advised tumor took about 18 months to reach max. Semi blocked colon for maybe years, mucous and blood. Same complaint each year, sent home "see you next year"? She must stay with me now as her life has been turned upside down. She may have to sell or rent to help pay hospital bills. Lingering issues with colorectal problems. She deserves compensation and I like to do my own research. I recently contacted a FT. Lauderdale attorney who is requesting her medical records. I told him I would look around as colorectal is not a specialty. Do you know of any experts local or available to dade broward? Any attorney you know of that might specialize? I have only agreed to pay for the records for review at this time. I know your position without major damage might limit your view of this potential claim. If that information must remain private then please feel free to contact me direct

Thank you so much...and so nice to know we fought in the same war!

Can You Recomend A Colorectal Expert For Med -mal?

I must believe that you are confusing me with someone else. I have never been involved in a colon cancer case and  your other references are not familiar to me. The one comment I feel qualified to provide is this: there is no such thing as a medical malpractice attorney that specialized in colon cancer issues.  There surely are some lawyers, maybe in Florida, that have handled such cases and may have valuable background in the subject but they certainly don't "specialize" there. There aren't enough such cases around. You need a good med mal lawyer. The expert colorectal surgeon that is retained by the attorney to testify as to the "standard of care" is the "expert" you need and indeed, require.  The medical expert provides the expertise for a successful case. The lawyer just needs to be a good litigator with years of experience and deep pockets to finance the expensive litigation.
